Loathe Arlington reviews
Muse in Phoenix
I decided to check out the show in Phoenix since the boys from Loathe did not book an arena in the Los Angeles area for this leg of the tour. Start to finish, the energy the trio puts out is incredible. Three tremendous musicians who put on one of the most epic shows I can remember in some time. Particularly for Uprising, SMBH, Hysteria, TIRO, and of course, Knights of Cydonia, the energy at US Air was pretty good. Matt Bellamy's guitar work is extraordinary. I give the band a ton of respect for not only covering new material from The Resistance but also for reaching back into all of their albums and keeping their classics strong. I have seen Muse before at a festival-type of event, so I was really looking forward to seeing them put their own stamp on a show. If I'm required to post any negative, I would have to say the show was too short and they didn't play all of the favorites. But hey, their library is now too huge to please everybody. The bass/drum jam featuring Chris Wolstenholme and Dom Howard (Helsinki Jam?) really brought me back to the 80's. Looking forward to possible shows in the Fall at Staples and/or Honda Center.
